Who We Are
Founded in 1982, the Remodelors™ Council of the National Association of Home Builders represents and serves the interests of more than 14,000 remodeling industry members. Membership provides valuable resources and offers opportunities to network with others in the remodeling industry. The Remodelors Council is committed to improved management and technical competency of council members, excellence in service to the consumer, and effective government representation of remodelers ’ interests at the federal, state and local levels.
Working in partnership with locally-organized Remodelors Councils at more than 150 NAHB-affiliated state and local builders ’ associations, the council provides information, certification, education, and recognition programs geared to keeping remodeler members competitive.
Benefits of Membership
With industry-leading programs in education, networking, marketing, advocacy, and recognition of excellence, the NAHB Remodelors Council gives its members the tools they need to build solid remodeling businesses. Some benefits of membership include:
Training for a competitive edge.
Throughout the year, the council offers a variety of education programs on all aspects of the remodeling business. It also sponsors the Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR) designation and the Certified-Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation.
Networking to strengthen business connections.
Remodelor 20 Clubs offer a unique, personalized learning experience. Modeled on NAHB ’s highly successful Builder 20 Clubs, the Remodelor 20 format brings together a maximum of 20 remodelers from non-competing markets twice a year to learn from one another. NAHB ’s Board of Directors meetings, held three times a year, also give remodelers the opportunity to join their peers to discuss industry issues and shape future Remodelors Council activities.
Marketing and promotion to boost bottom lines.
Throughout the year, the council coordinates an extensive program of media, public relations, and marketing designed to build the image and awareness of Remodelors Council members and the remodeling industry

Advocacy to make our voice heard.
As a department within one of the country’s most influential trade associations, Remodelors Council members have access to the country ’s best advocacy at the local, state and national levels.
Information to keep members at the forefront of industry developments.
A free subscription to Professional Remodeler magazine, the RENews members-only e-newsletter, and resources on NAHB ’s members-only Web site keep our members in touch with the remodeling industry.

Who We Are Locally
The Greater Houston Builders Association’s Remodelors Council is made up of over 250-member companies, more than 100 of those true remodelers. The balance of our membership, classified as Associates, includes specialized trade contractors, product manufacturers and suppliers, financial institutions, service providers, architectural and interior designers, and many other types of businesses that support the remodeling industry. Our council won the 2005 Council Awards for Demonstrating Remodeling Excellence (CADRE) in the Membership Recruitment & Retention category, the national association’s highest honor for work at the local level.
We’re involved in our communities through charity projects, special events, trade shows, and continuing participation in all levels of government that affect the residential construction industry. Our members are committed supporters of the GHBA ’s extensive edu- cation program, actively encouraging education in an on-going campaign to promote the excellence, integrity and professionalism of all of our members.
Refer to this annually published Houston Remodeling Guide when you’re ready to remodel your home, and check the www.ghba.org Web site for current member contact information. If your company can benefit from membership in our award-winning council, downloadable membership applications are also available on our Web site, or call 281-970-8970, ext. 110, for assistance.
